BENIFITS OF ANGIOGRAPHY
1 Accurate Diagnosis
Angiography provides precise imaging, aiding in the accurate diagnosis of various vascular conditions, such as coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, and aneurysms.
2 Treatment Guidance
Angiography results guide treatment decisions, helping us develop personalized treatment plans that address your specific cardiovascular needs.
3 Minimally Invasive Procedures
In some cases, angiography can be followed by minimally invasive procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, or embolization to treat vascular abnormalities.
The Angiography Procedure
Here's what you can expect during an angiography procedure:
Preparation: You'll be asked to change into a hospital gown, and a small area on your body (usually the groin or wrist) will be cleaned and numbed. A thin, flexible tube called a catheter is inserted into a blood vessel in this area.
Contrast Dye Injection: Contrast dye is injected through the catheter into the blood vessel, and X-rays are taken as the dye flows through your arteries and veins. The contrast dye highlights the blood vessels, allowing them to be clearly seen on the X-ray images.
Image Acquisition: A series of X-ray images are captured from different angles, providing a comprehensive view of your blood vessels and any potential issues.
Analysis: The recorded angiography images are analyzed by our cardiologist to assess blood flow, detect blockages, and determine the extent of vascular disease.
Results: The results of your angiography will be discussed with you, and if necessary, further diagnostic tests or treatment options will be recommended.
